Fentress County Fair Grounds - March 26, 2022
Saturday, 26 March 2022, was an amazing day that Compassion Ministries served 553 families and gave away right at $100,000 worth of food and products having over 125 volunteers helping. It did not rain and the sun came out. People were totally blessed and grateful for the food that we provided them giving almost all the food away. A man stopped us on the way out and asked Pastor Steve for food stating that he had just lost his son and they did not have anything to eat. We gave him some of what we had left. Bill, Nancy, and Mark did an amazing job of signing in people, but, more help is needed there in the future. Sparkie, Steve, Randy, Jim, and Brandon also did an amazing job. Sparkie can only be in one place at one time and today Robin was asking him to be in three places at one time. Everyone on Compassion Ministries team, Randy, Jim, and Dottie worked so hard to help put this together. You guys are amazing and God is good.

Todd did an amazing job in his county laying in the foundation for today on the radio all week and had us into newspapers with great reviews. Laying the foundation before we get there, so that the people know that we are coming, is key. Mobile medical clinic went with us today had their first patient. After they left, more people showed up wanting to see them. The mobile medical clinic is something that's going to be slow and steady but, longer term, it will be a blessing to those who come.

Fentress County Fair Grounds - March 27, 2021
On Saturday, 27 March 2021, Compassion Ministries, with Mission of Hope working alongside us, conducted a Mobile Food Pantry at the Fentress County Fairgrounds in Jamestown, Tennessee. Also working with us, United Health Care, was a great friend for the people there providing info on health care. We had many volunteers from the Jamestown area plus Andy Phier and several of his fellow church members, volunteered and fell right in with us. Along with all these, the Gideons gave every family a Bible. Approximately 600 families came to receive help for their family on an extremely rainy, stormy day. It rained and rained, yet through it all, several helpers noted they heard not one complaint. It reminds me of my day of baptism many years ago. With the water washing over me, I felt and received the blessings of God. That was the way it seemed through the rain. Those receiving food and those giving out food – all seemed to receive a blessing beyond measure.

Jamestown - April 2020
On Friday, April 17, 2020, Compassion Ministries conducted a “drive-through” mobile pantry. The drive-through was to help us stay in compliance with social distancing standards as set forth in Coronavirus personal safety standards. While we happily do this, it takes away much of the personal contact our volunteers love and give so freely to our customers.

The volunteer helpers were bountiful and much needed that day. Our primary supporter in Fentress County are Todd Burnett, County Judge, and his wife, Tracey. Without their hearts for this community, we would not be able to meet such a large outpouring of people. Along with the County Commissioner, many community volunteers, and members of the “Alive in the Spirit” Church, we served 955 families representing 2,563 members of the community. Lest we forget, we could never do these pantries without the fervent support from our financial sponsors. For this one, United Health Care was our hero.

Because of the large crowds, the traffic was so bad that our Pastor had to have a police escort to get there with another load of supplies. Each family went home with $400+ in groceries and we left excess food there for Judge Burnett to distribute as needed.
